Climate
The Comoros experience two seasons that do not differ too much from each other, a warmer and rainier season from November to May and a fresher and drier one from June to October. All year round temperatures vary between 25°C and 32°C. During the rainy season rains may appear but generally do not last more than an hour. February is generally rainier. Languages
The national language is Comorian. The official language is French.
Population
The population is mixed of Arabic, African, Malgasy and Indian.
Monnaie
The currency in the Comoros is Comorian Franc. In Moheli, there is no possibility to use credit cards, get advance on ATMs or pay by cheque. We accept euro and the prices are calculated at the rate 1€ = 500 Comorian franc.
Visa
Entry visa are available on arrival at the airport for 60 euro and are valid for 45 days.
Vêtement
Summer clothes are recommended all year round.
Health
It is adviced to take drugs against malaria.
How to get there?


International flights
There are several possibilities how to get to Comoros and Moheli. A number of airlines provide connections from Europe, the Middle East and Africa. From Europe you can fly to Moroni with KLM or Air France in cooperation with Kenya Airways via Nairobi. Air Austral provides regular flights between several French cities to Mayotte or Moroni. Yemenia offers regular flights from major European cities via Sanna. The prices of air tickets depend on the season and how long in advance you book your flight.
The inter-islands flights are served by two Comorian Airlines - Air Service Comores and Comores Aviation. These airlines provide regular flights between the four islands, Grande Comore, Anjouan, Moheli and Mayotte. There is also a direct flight from Mayotte to Moheli. Transport on the island
The transport on the island is very limited. The public transport is not present and only a handful of taxis are available on the island. Hotel Moheli Laka Lodge *** provides for its customers airport transfers (18€ one way for 3 to 4 passengers – or 36€ for up to 9 passengers).
